Inspired by the history of the Japanese Masu finger-jointed box originally used as measuring cups for rice and other grains, the Hinoki Storage collection offers a flexible range of stackable storage solutions for everyday life. All pieces are handmade from fast growing, environmentally ethical Hinoki softwood.
New for 2018: the Hinoki Desktop collection offers storage solutions around the desk which also double as interior accents. 4 types of organisers neatly store stationery, tablets, small accessories and letters. The wall hooks can be used to hang keys and accessories.
ABOUT THE MAKER
For over 60 years Ohashi Ryoki has been the leading manufacturer of traditional handcrafted Masu boxes in Ogaki, Japan. Over 80% of all Masu boxes produced are made in Ogaki city, which is located near a major manufacturing centre of Hinoki lumber. Made from excess lumber that comes out of thinning, the Masu boxes are entirely environmentally friendly. Wake up every day to a hint of fresh evergreens in the air and enjoy the crisp scent and smooth, soft touch of wood. Made entirely from the treasured Japanese Cypress, their environmentally friendly products give more than just the gift of design.
