HIDA SANGYO

Live & work furniture

This collection draws inspiration from the traditional architecture and woodworking native to the Hida-Takayama region; an area heavily influenced by cultures of Kyoto and Tokyo in the Edo period (1603-1868), a significant time of peace and prosperity in Japan that prompted an increase in artistic, cultural and social development. The collection consists of a workstation and task chair plus series of dining and living furniture, crafted from either Walnut or Oak. The designs reflect Japanese culture whilst meeting the need to incorporate modern technologies in to today’s work and social lifestyles.

The 2017 Office collection was awarded the Design Guild Mark by the Furniture Makers' Company
